Local Action for Participatory and Self-managed Development (ALDEPA)
ALDEPA is a Cameroonian civil society organization created in 1998 and legalized on November 4, 2002 as a Cameroon non-profit association and approved with the status of NGO on May 10, 2017. The aim of ALDEPA is to contribute to the construction of a fair and equitable society with the responsible participation of the population. ALDEPA’s mission is to promote endogenous initiatives and dynamics that contribute to the participatory, equitable and sustainable development of target groups.
Since the humanitarian crisis in the Far North region, ALDEPA has been active in supporting and caring for Nigerian refugees from Minawao camp and internally displaced persons. ALDEPA also intervenes for the application of juvenile justice, particularly with regards to respect for the procedures and psychological care of children and women suspected of being associated with armed groups, as well as their reintegration.
Association Rayons De Soleil
Rayons de Soleil (rays of sunshine) is a young ladies organization founded in 2006 with the aim to protect and promote girls and women’s rights. The strategies include but are not limited to raising awareness campaign, training, communication, publishing, documentary and film production, and advocacy. For the past 11 years, Rayons de Soleil has successfully engaged Cameroonian youths against violent extremism and radicalisation in the far north region.
Mouvement Pour la Defense de l Humanite et l Abolition de la Torture (MDHAT)
The Movement for the Defense of Humanity and the Abolition of Torture (MDHAT) is a human rights organization, working within the framework of medical and psychological rehabilitation of victims of torture and war survivors, minorities, prevention of child abuse and prevention of violent extremism.
MDHAT sensitizes young people in schools on the dangers of violent extremism in the Eastern and Western regions of Cameroon. The organization also provides psycho-social care and reintegration to victims of violence and internally displaced persons.
